Hawks star Dejounte Murray gives respect to Sixers guard Shake Milton

PHILADELPHIA–The short-handed Philadelphia 76ers received another big game out of Shake Milton in Monday’s 104-101 win over the Atlanta Hawks in order to get the job done.

With the Sixers still missing James Harden and Tyrese Maxey, Philadelphia has been needing others to step up and Milton has been the one to do so from the perimeter.

The veteran out of SMU poured in 21 points, seven rebounds, and five assists on Monday and he is now averaging 23.2 points over his last six games. He has been a huge help to Philadelphia’s recent success and Hawks All-Star Dejounte Murray gave his respect to Milton after the contest on Monday.

“I’ve always been a fan of him,” said Murray. “I watch a ton of basketball so I’m aware without the scouting report. I’m aware of what he’s been doing. It goes back two or three years ago, two years ago, when he was getting a lot of time, playing really well. He’s taking advantage of the opportunity. He’s being a real professional and you gotta respect that.”

As Philadelphia continues to grow as a group, they will need Milton to continue to play at this level and continue to produce when called upon.
