ALBAWABA - Katy Perry, who is currently dominating the charts, almost had a wardrobe malfunction on Monday night's American Idol telecast when her top flew off.
A tragic blunder by Perry occurred just before Roman Collins was to join the stage for his rendition of James Brown's "It's A Man's Man's Man's World." Strapped to her back with delicate wiring was a silver top that looked like it belonged in a spaceship.
"Please, make sure my top stays put!" In an Instagram video that shows Perry's staff and co-host Luke Bryan trying feverishly to put Perry's top back on, Perry yells in a good-natured way. "If it's not fixed, this show is going to get more than it wants," Perry says directly to the camera as she lifts a pair of pliers off the table.
Afterwards, Bryan had a quick peek to see if he could reorganize the straps using some manicuring scissors, but he quickly lost interest and abandoned the team to their futile efforts. "I'm starting now!" While lowering her chair beneath the judge's table, Perry's co-host, Lionel Richie, let out an exclamation. He said it again about ratings.
"Come on, this is a show the whole family can enjoy!" While concealing her chest with a huge cushion, Perry voiced her complaint. Following Collins' performance, Perry told Collins, "The song broke my top off." This made Collins laugh. It's a realm where women rule.
Following the program, Bryan and Richie told Entertainment Tonight competing versions of what happened. "Tonight, her top flies off; it almost flies off," Bryan remarked, reflecting on the moment he decided to offer Perry his assistance. "What do you require right now? At this stage of the game, I'm asking. What is it that you require? Are you in need of some pliers? Is a towel necessary? The lounging garment? I said, "What is it that you require?"
Perry ended by saying, "It appears like I rip my trousers every season..."I believe it's the physical comedy—the part of me that loves to express myself physically—that's about to explode. Despite her impending resignation from Idol, Perry has managed to leave an impression on fans.
