ALBAWABA - According to a statement by the US Military Central Command (CENTCOM), four Houthi drones that were launched aimed at a US warship in the Red Sea have been downed.

The US forces "engaged and destroyed four long-range unmanned aerial systems (UAS) launched by Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen. These UAS were aimed at a U.S. warship and engaged in self-defense over the Red Sea. There were no injuries or damage reported to U.S. or coalition ships" CENTCOM said in a statement on X.

"It was determined these weapons presented an imminent threat to merchant vessels and US Navy ships in the region," the statement said. "These actions are taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for US Navy and merchant vessels," it added.

Additionally, according to Al-Masirah TV, the US and Britain conducted several airstrikes on Houthi-controlled areas in the Yemeni city of Sa'dah. Sa'dah, located in northern Yemen, is recognized as a stronghold of the Houthi rebels and shares a border with Saudi Arabia.

The US and its allies have sent warships to the Red Sea to protect commercial shipping routes, as the Houthi vowed to put a bullseye on all trade vessels crossing the Gulf of Aden and Bab Al Manden Strait heading to Israel.

Furthermore, the US and UK have carried out attacks against Houthi installations in Yemen, citing defensive measures aimed at weakening the group's capabilities.

While airstrikes appeared to temporarily halt Houthi attacks in February, subsequent weeks have seen a revival in Houthi activity, with attacks restarting and growing, threatening regional stability and worldwide shipping operations.

Al-Aqsa Flood operation against Israel

Hamas military group announced on Oct. 7 a military operation called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel which is the biggest offensive in decades.

Palestinian fighters “infiltrated” Israel from the Gaza Strip and captured military bases and took hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas fighters on vehicles inside Israel and others paragliding into occupation territory.

In response, Israeli armed forces announced targeting Hamas positions inside the Gaza Strip. Thousands were killed, and dozens of thousands of others were injured in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.

The latest statistics by the Ministry of Health in Gaza revealed that the death toll from Israeli brutal pounding on the Gaza Strip since October 7 has soared to 32,000+ people, with more than 75,000+ injuries.

Since then, approximately 85% of Gazans have been displaced, all of whom are suffering from severe food insecurity, and the healthcare system has collapsed. Hundreds of thousands of people lack shelter, and aid trucks are entering the area at a lower rate than before the conflict began.
